Scholarship America announced in early 2004, that the Fairmont Dollars for Scholars Chapter was the 2003 recipient of The Golden Tassel Award. This award is annually given to an established chapter which has experienced growth in number of scholarships awarded. Included with honor was a monetary award of $1,000, which in turn was given by the chapter to a college bound student. There are over 1,200 Dollars for Scholars Chapters in the USA .
