Graduates of Fairmont Area High School, District #2752, who are or will be full-time college students are eligible for these scholarships..

You may print this application or pick one up at the Fairmont High School counseling office after January 1st. Applications are due along with supporting material in April.

Fairmont Dollars for Scholars Application

Application Process for the Fairmont Dollars for Scholars Awards
All Graduates of Fairmont High School are eligible to apply!

Step 1 - Seniors/college students can pick up an application in the counseling office after January 1st.
Step 2 - The completed application and the Student Aid Report (SAR), the report showing the family's Expected Financial Contribution (EFC) and school transcript are due in the counseling office in April.

Step 3 - The Evaluation Committee, made up of board members of the chpater, uses the Scholarship America's Scoring System to score the application:

240 Points Are Possible
High School Rank	80 Points
College Test Scores	40 Points
Applicant Appraisal	40 Points
Personal Data	80 Points
Which includes school/community activities, work experience, etc...

Step 4 - The Selection Committee, made up of people from the chapter and from the community, using this data, anonymously selects the scholarship winners:

Step 5 - The Awards Night is held in May when recipients learn about their scholarship, donor's name and the amount of the scholarship.
Step 6 - In August, checks made out to the student and the college are mailed to the recipients.
